Biopolis was started by CCA graduates and Humanities members Julia Picker '20 and Kaitlyn Wang '20 at Canyon Crest Academy in 2018. They were both members of their school's Conservatory for the Humanities but also dedicated to biomedical research. Biopolis gave them an opportunity to use their humanities skills to share their transformative research experiences with other youth who would not otherwise have been exposed to biology in a laboratory setting.

Today, the Biopolis team has worked closely with over 150 elementary and middle school students and continues to inspire a passion for science in students all over San Diego and beyond.

Now that Julia and Kaitlyn have graduated and will bring Biopolis to the UC Berkeley and to Dartmouth, Biopolis CCA has become an ASB recognized Club and will continue thier work.
